New Year, New Beginnings!
I am looking forward to all that the upcoming 2009 season will bring. Was recently featured in Studio Photography Magazine with an incredible feature article about Alternate Angles- what a great way to ring in the new year! Have some incredible weddings booked and will be travelling
across the country creating family portraits while raising money for the MS Society. For more info, please view the Special Events section of the web site.
Currently, I am enjoying teaching a fabulous group of students at New England School of Photography. This is a course I teach annually on Wedding Photography- everything from the tricks of creating amazing imagery to the necessary specifics of running a successful business. I am flattered to be chosen as the local professional of choice to assist the next upcoming generation of wedding photographers! As a graduate myself, it is such a pleasure giving back to the institution that helped jump start my career and the wonderful students at
NESOP. Was recently joined by Danielle Duane at Boston Bride Magazine, who spoke to the students about this incredible publication and some of the things to consider when choosing where to advertise. So much thanks to Danielle for sharing her time and knowledge! Looking ahead, I am excited about the ever popular mock wedding, which once again will be held at The Hampshire House with Michelle
Giacomozzi, a colleague I consider a friend at this point in my career. Looking forward to having some lighting tricks shared this coming Monday by Dan
Doke. In future weeks the students will see some albums shared by
Enna & Matt
Grazier as well as Leather Craftsmen, see some images by Earle Christie, and have the opportunity to visit the studio of Click Imagery. So much thanks to the amazing vendors in and around Boston with whom I have had the distinct pleasure of working all these years and who are happily willing to share some of their insights with others.
On a personal note, am trying to get my Christmas Tree successfully taken down without my five year old son, Ruben, throwing a fit. He has become absorbed with continuing to wrap all sorts of household items up and putting them under the tree. While, as a parent, I am proud to see the thrill of giving continuing beyond the holiday, trying to find every day items has become a challenge, especially when the gifts don't always find themselves under the tree. Last weekend, when explaining the concept of the next "upcoming" (time can be warped for five year
olds!)Easter to his two year old sister, they proceeded to hide things throughout the house like the Easter Bunny. Has anyone seen the hairbrush???? :) Life with youngsters is the best ride of my life and I am enjoying every minute of it!
